Level 1 - Safe Food Handler Employee Training

This training provides employees with basic knowledge of safe food handling practices and is appropriate for anyone who is preparing and serving food to others, such as employees in restaurants, school cafeterias, child care centers, senior centers, Head Start and those working at community festivals, unless they have been told by Public Health Dayton Montgomery County that they need Level 2 Food Protection training.  All participants receive the ServSafe® Safe Food Handler Guide.  Upon completion of this 4-hour class, participants receive a Certificate of Completion.  Level 2 training is offered as an online course with the exam proctored at the OSU Extension Office in Montgomery County.  Pat Holmes is an Ohio Department of Health approved provider of food safety training. 

Registration fee of $35 and must be paid 10 days before the class date. If you are an organization that has 15 people or more who are needing Level 1 training, contact Pat Holmes at holmes.86@osu.edu

Food Safety Manager 2

Montgomery County Extension office partners with the TAP Series. This program meets the Ohio Department of Health requirement for Level 2 Certification in Food Protection. The registration fee is $150 includes the online class and exam. Individuals take the online class through TAP then take the exam in person at the Extension Office.
