4-H is… a community of young people learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H is... the largest youth serving organization in the world.
What do 4-Hers do?
Attend club meetings in their community, complete at least one project per year, conduct their own meetings, decide their own club activities, help their community, work with adult advisors and other kids to "make the best better" and have lots of FUN.
How much does 4-H cost?
Each club decides if club dues will be charged usually $5 -$10 for the year. There are no national or state dues, or uniforms. Most project books cost as low as $6 each. Supplies needed to complete each project vary, depending on what a 4-Her chooses to do.
How old are 4-Hers?
Youth between the ages of 5-18 can join 4-H.
Who are the adults in 4-H?
Adult volunteers from your community are called "Advisors." Adults apply, interview and are trained and supervised by local 4-H staff after completing the required background check. These caring adults work with youth 4-H members to teach skills and supervise youth in practicing those skills.
