Betty says the favorite part of her job is interacting with the 4-H members and 4-H volunteers. She especially loves working with teens to plan and conduct the annual 4-H Camp and Junior Fair Livestock Shows and events. Working with the 4-H youth at Wright-Patterson AFB is also a highlight.
Wingerter is an Assistant Professor, OSU College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). She has her Master’s Degree in Recreation Administration, University of Maryland; Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education, The Ohio State University. Additional graduate course work is in Leadership Development and Management.
Betty is Assistant Superintendent for Junior Fair Poultry with the Ohio State Fair. With the American Camp Association (ACA), she is a Standards Accreditation Visitor for camps. She is Past President of the National Association of 4-H Youth Development Professionals (NAE4HYDP); Past President of the Ohio Extension Agents Association (now called JCEP – Joint Council of Extension Professionals). She has been inducted into the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame; Honoree from MCAS as a Fair Supporter and Day at the County Fair. She has received the Ohio Excellence in 4-H Award; NAE4HYDP Meritorious and Distinguished Service Awards. Betty is Treasurer of 4-H Camp Graham Board of Directors and ex-officio member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Society (MCAS).
