The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a free nutrition education program targeting low income families with children. Grant funded through the USDA/NIFA, EFNEP has taught thousands of Montgomery County residents over the past 50 years. Our series of nine (90 minute) lessons concentrate on food safety, healthy eating, budgeting food dollars, and the importance of physical activity. Our classes include food tastings, cooking classes, class incentives, and a certificate of completion from The Ohio State University.
During the 2018 Fiscal Year Montgomery County EFNEP reached about 300 adults and 1,000 youth participants.
Montgomery County EFNEP is made up of four Progam Assistants that service over 90 sites.
